May 24th, 1990 – Environmentalists blown up, framed by FBI

On this day the environmental activists Judi Bari and Darryl Cherney injured by a car bomb. You can – and should – read more about the case here. They were at the time engaged in the “Redwood Summer”, an attempt to get timber workers and environmentalists combining forces. There are other more climate-related events that happened on this day, but it would be dishonourable not to remember this event, sadly not an aberration when it comes to the United States and social justice campaigns…
